Yes, it may sound boring and our favorite word for it is “unproductive”, but as a matter of fact, the privilege of making a day productive or unproductive lies in our hands. It depends on how we plan our day and how we get things done. Earlier, we used to complain that we don't have enough time to do that X, Y, Z thing but now that excuse is not going to satisfy your guilt.
You have enough time on your hands, so don't wait and procrastinate and dive into 16 things that you can do to make your stay at home the most productive.
1. Go for a morning walk
Health comes first. Wake up early in the morning and go for a quiet stroll around your neighborhood. If you feel that's not safe, don't come up with an excuse, rather use your terrace to take a walk or exercise.
2. Invest in yourself by learning something new
This is the best time to upskill yourselves. With no extra burden, go and enroll yourself in free courses with free certificates. 4. Spend time with your family and friends
Now is the time to settle all those complaints by your parents. Spend time with your family and friends. A movie with a bowl of popcorn alongside your loved ones is definitely making good use of a day.
5. Read that one book you bought ages ago
Books are not only a medium for recreation but also help in developing vocabulary and imagination. Transporting yourself in Harry Potter’s world is a choice that I approve of.
6. Watch a documentary
Watching a documentary is one of the best ways to learn about a concept and enjoy it. If you don't have the will to read a book, then go for a documentary. Rather than indulging yourself in your binge-watching activity, invest your time watching something that adds to your knowledge. Go ask that friend for their Netflix password now.
Meditation is one of the best ways to calm and relax. With the amount of craziness that has descended in our life, we deserve a break. We need to fight that constant anxiety, so roll a carpet and get set go to meditate.
8. Start documenting through a journal
The number of thoughts that we have in our head is haywire. Documenting your thoughts through a journal is a great way to organize and process your thoughts.
9. Develop a hobby
If you want to try something new and are not interested in going back to your old ways, then there is time for you to develop a new hobby also. You can try to cook or start working in your garden. You can try and explore your love for fitness or photography.
10. Set up a playlist
If you are doing a workout routine or taking a walk, you need your music. Music is also a good way to relax alongside meditation. So go and make that perfect playlist to accompany you for your walk next time.
11. Decorate your home
Home is our retreat from the outside world and our retreat deserves to be beautiful with a personal touch. I am sure you might have come across some amazing DIY videos while scrolling through Facebook. So get your glue guns out and make a beautiful handicraft for your home.
12. Create a healthy diet plan
We juggle a lot during our work and don’t find a suitable time to have proper healthy meals while not realizing their importance. So, create a healthy diet plan and indulge yourself in healthy eating and cooking.
13. Learn a new language
It's never too late to learn a new language. It is exciting and very enriching. Go ask Google how to learn a new language.
14. Plant a tree
Taking care of a plant is very satisfying and a small contribution from your side to keep this planet green. Be a part of giving someone life.
15. Make a plan for future
Think and decide where you want to be in the future. Where do you want to see yourself and make a plan for this. Develop a roadmap on how you will reach your destination and start working on it from now.
16. Build a routine
Building a routine is very important to move away from the chaos. Write down all the activities that you will be doing, schedule them and follow them religiously.
These are some of the things that you can do to make your day productive, but don't limit yourself to the above options. There are still hundreds of things that you can do, so make sure you plan to do them.
