-13 - the one automation that made Mondays way easier

Picture a regular Monday morning: you open your laptop… and immediately start:

What’s due? Who’s on what? Is anything behind?

Not exactly the most focused start to the week. You dig through messages, ping your team, and try to piece it all together.

We automated one small thing that made this feel way easier. One of the simplest automations we’ve set up and the one with the biggest impact.

📊 Here’s how it works:

We created a custom report called “Tasks due this week” using Workast’s advanced search. Then we shared it with the team—just added their emails so it appears in their sidebar too. Optional, but super useful: we scheduled it to drop into Slack every Monday morning. Just a quick ping to keep everyone aligned—no meeting needed.

The report gives everyone visibility from the start, so no one’s guessing or waiting for updates.

It also helps set the tone: here’s what matters right now.

If your team works in sprints, handles client projects, or even just has deadlines scattered across tools—this quick check-in can anchor the week.

You could also schedule it for Fridays, as a weekly wrap-up. Or run a report for overdue tasks only. Whatever fits your team rhythm.

Want to try it?

✏️ Here’s how to set it up:

1

Go to Reports > Advanced Search and filter by “Due next 7 days.”

2

Save the report, give it a name (like “Week at a glance”), and share it with your team by adding their emails—it’ll appear in their sidebar.

3

Click Schedule to have it sent automatically to Slack, email, or both.

➕ You can also customize what shows in the report—like assignees, due dates, priority, tags, or any custom columns you’ve added to your Space.

That’s it. One less thing to figure out next Monday.
