How to use the multi-select mode in Workast

The multi-select mode in Workast allows you to select multiple tasks and perform actions on them at the same time.

You can use multi-select mode in spaces, lists, completed tasks, and reports.

How to select multiple tasks

There are several ways to select multiple tasks:

Press and hold Shift on your keyboard, then click the tasks you want to select.

Right-click on a task and select Select multiple tasks.

Select all tasks in a list

You can select all tasks in a sublist using the list menu.

Open the list menu and select the option to select all tasks in that list.

Once multi-select mode is enabled, a checkbox will appear next to each task. Select or deselect tasks by clicking the checkbox or the task.

Available actions

Once you select multiple tasks, a toolbar will appear at the bottom of the page with the available actions.

Depending on where the tasks are located and which features are enabled in the space, you may see the following options:

Mark Complete – Marks all selected tasks as complete.

Move – Moves the selected tasks to another space or list.

Add Due Date – Adds a due date and time to all selected tasks.

Assign – Assigns the selected tasks to one or more people. This option is not available when selecting tasks from Personal Tasks.

Custom Fields – Updates custom fields for the selected tasks. This option appears when custom fields are enabled in the space.

Copy task – Copies the selected task titles with their Workast URLs hyperlinked, so you can easily share the tasks on your desired platform.

Delete – Deletes all selected tasks.

X – Cancels multi-select mode without making any changes.

Uncomplete completed tasks

When viewing completed tasks, you can select multiple tasks and click the tick/checkmark to uncomplete them.

The selected tasks will be moved back to your active tasks.

After you perform an action on multiple tasks, Workast will display a loading animation while the changes are being processed.

Once the action is complete, you will see a confirmation that the changes have been applied.
