How to leave a comment on a task in Slack

Comments on a task show up in the task detail in the Workast Dashboard.  When you add a comment to a task, any users that are following the task will receive a notification in their Workast channel in Slack.

In Slack, you can leave a comment on a task in three ways:

  • By using the drop-down message menu immediately after a task is created
  • By using the drop-down message menu  after typing the /todo list command in a channel
  • By using the "Add comment" or "Reply" buttons with task notifications in your Workast channel.

Commenting on a task immediately after task creation

  • Click on the ellipses (three dots) underneath the task creation message, then select "Add comment."
  • Type your comment in the text box.  Click "Send" when you are done to add the comment to the task.  You will receive a confirmation that the comment has been saved.

  • Users following the task will receive a notification in their Workast channel, informing them about the comment.
